Safety & Training
All of our journeyman electricians must demonstrate proficiency in the electrical trade by meeting one or more of the following requirements: have a minimum of (7) years documented work experience in the trade, a combination of a certified technical degree and a minimum (4) years field experience, proof of completion of a (5) year certified apprentice program plus (2) years experience, or hold a valid masters electrician license.
We maintain a New York State certified apprentice program and also sit on several BOCES technical school boards assisting with student education and training.
We make safety a priority. All employees are required to be trained by an OSHA authorized instructor. All employees get a payroll safety message that is reviewed each week at a job-box safety meeting. We maintain a designated safety supervisor who monitors all job sites and maintains contact with OSHA and the DOL. All our jobsite equipment is certified to be OSHA approved. We continually strive to maintain our excellent OSHA safety record.
We continue to refine and upgrade our safety practices and knowledge of the tools, materials, and processes of our industry. Recent seminars and courses we have held include:
• 10 hour OSHA card course
• NFPA 70E arch-flash 4 hour course
• Lock-out/tag-out course
• NYC DOB Fall Protection & Scaffolding Course
• American Red Cross CPR 3 hour seminar
• Changes to the NEC 2011 Electrical Code
